Anyone who has ever played World of Warcraft probably has encountered a Warcraft orc before. This powerful Horde race is very popular both among role players and non-role players. If you are considering a Warcraft orc for you next character, then there are a few things you should know about the race.

A Closer Look at the Warcraft Orc

The Warcraft orc is known for being one of the stronger classes you can choose on the Horde side. They are excellent at inflicting damage, with highly powerful abilities and combat skills. They are also capable of taking an admirable amount of damage while in combat. Of course, their abilities and hit points may vary depending on which class you choose to make your Warcraft orc. In general, they are a brutish race that usually comes with an unruly persona (especially when role playing).

The Warcraft Orc Warrior

The Warrior class is one option for your Warcraft orc. If you love a good melee battle, then this is the class for you. Warriors are generally recognized as a tank archetype. That means they are usually the front line offense in groups, getting in the face of whatever creatures are encountered. They can deal damage as well as take it, keeping the hits from the less resilient classes. Warriors are also equipped to maintain aggression, or agro, so the damage stays where it should be, on the tank.

The Warriors Rage

All Warcraft orc Warriors use what is called Rage. Rage is built up every time the Warrior deals out damage as well as takes damage. This is then used in Warrior abilities. This can take a lot of getting used to, especially if you are accustomed to a mage type that usually starts off with the mana needed to cast spells. In time, you will get use to the Warriors rage use.

The Negative Aspects of the Warrior

The only glaring problem with making your Warcraft orc a Warrior class is gear, or rather the importance of gear.  The Warriors are close range combatants. This means they spend a lot of the battle taking damage while they deal it. This puts a serious focus on the gear the Warrior is using. If they have sub par items, then they will not be nearly as effective as a tank. They will take damage more, which means their hit points will decrease faster. A good tank should be able to endure a long battle without dying. If you plan to make your Warcraft orc a Warrior, make sure you know what to expect. The Warrior class can be tricky to master, so get ready to adjust your play style. If done correctly, and geared well, your Warcraft orc can become an excellent tank. By nature, the orcs are known for being a beastly and brutish race, which fits the tank persona perfectly. You can even find unique ways to incorporate this in to a back story should you role play your Warcraft orc!
