A headhunting representative will ring her up and interview her through the phone for a Client that they have. If she pass the phone interview, she is asked to do a ‘meet and greet’ with the Human Resource Manager of that company to again interview her if she is suitable for the job. When she reaches the office, there will be about 10-15 applicants waiting for their turn. This is how job hunting looks like for the past few months. A company might have a small window for a job opportunity and there will be hundreds and at times thousands that will apply for the role. Applicants can vary. According to one company who is looking for a business analyst, some applicants would submit their resumes even when the ad has already specified what the company requires. This situation shows that the people are now living in desperate measures just as long as they can secure a regular job that pays. Like Alice, there are hundreds of people who are ready to accept any job as long as they can put food on the table, pay the rent and bills. This is because the government has imposed a regulation for unemployment benefits not extended. An unemployed can only claim six months of extended unemployment benefits and that’s it. The government made this decision as some people tries to take advantage of this service by not informing their local state they already have a job. However for those who have not filed for their benefits, how do i qualify for extended unemployment benefits? You need to provide evidence that you are still looking for work. Recruitment papers are being handed out to companies so that you can use this as proof when you file for extended unemployment benefits. You need to produce this every month to claim your benefits. This may be strenuous since you need to provide this documentation but the government also needs to have something in their hands to know that you are eligible for extended benefits. So keep those recruitment papers filed.
